Have you tried using AutoNotification to intercept the GMail notification?

Does the Gmail notification show the email's subject?

    Try this:
    - create AutoNotification profile with gmail app as the only filter
    - in the task use the flash action with "New gmail: %antitle"

    Does this work?

How can I get the subject? I can't find any other info, apart from %antitle which is the sender info.
