As a means to getting started with Tasker, I'm trying to set up a time-based profile, which toggles the Drift webchat app from offline to online at the beginning of the day and back to offline at the end of the day.
It feels like a bit of a steep learning curve, so apologies if I'm making beginner errors. Just can't get it to work...
    This is what I do:

    1. Open Tasker on the Profiles Tab.
    2. Hit +.
    3. Choose Time.
    4. Select "From" time of day, but not "Repeat" or "To".
    5. Set the "From" time to 08:30.
    6. Select the upper left hand corner back button
    7. "Enter Task" appears
    8. Name new task "Drift=online" and click the V-sign.
    9. Click + to add an action
    10. Select Plugin, Autoinput, Action
    11. Click "Configuration", Easy Setup
    12. Close the "Selecting Field" message
    13. Select the Drift app
    14. Navigate to the Drift online/offline toggle
    15. Swipe down from top to choose "Add" from the "Selecting Field" menu
    16. Click the toggle, Accept
    17. Element Text: Off
    18. Action = Click
    19. Hit the V (OK) sign at the top
    20. Back at the Action Edit, it says
      Type: Text
      Value: OFF
      Action: Click
      Is Tasker Action: false
      Check Screen State: false
    21. I change the Timeout (Seconds) to None
    22. Hit the back button at the top left
I test it, and then ... nothing. What am I doing wrong?

You need to actually open the app before doing the AutoInput action :) AutoInput doesn't open apps for you.
Use the Tasker "App" action to do that. Hope this helps!
