I recently upgraded the target app that I run a task against. While trying to make the necessary adjustments in Tasker I began getting errors and the target application stops.

The error in the notification window is
    Autoinput action error
    Action timed out
    Copy Error

Running Android 7 on a Nexus 5x. I have updated Autoinput via your website.
    Any suggestions.

    Bill

You probably need to re-do the task for the new version of the app sorry. It probably changed something in its UI

I have done that as there were changes in the UI for sure. Is it possible for the app designer to block interaction from Autoinput?

Yes, that's also possible unfortunately :(

Is there a command to stop a task on any touch to the screen?

    Hi there.
I don't wanted to create a new topic for this issue I have.
I tried to create a task with autoinput to bind it to a tasker widget for disabling tasker itself. The task looks like:
    1) auto input action click (on takser icon, works fine, tasker opens)
    2) wait 2 seconds
3)auto input action click on 3 dots (more options)
    4) wait 2 seconds
    5) auto input click on disable tasker

As wrote above, the first action works, and then I get an error message "action timed out"... Any ideas how to fix this or what i am doing wrong?

Hi there. If you want to configure an action to click in Tasker itself you have to enable the option "Is Tasker Action" inside the AutoInput action. Hope this helps

Thank you for the advice, but unfortunately this doesn't help. I checked "is tasker action" but it still timed out. I quote you the error message from tasker itself:
This error message is what I get when I test task 3...and probably it is the same as task 5

Okay, I created all action from inside of tasker, main actions 1 and 3 are working, but from the last action I get the following error message
Action 5 is "disable tasker", and yes: is tasker action is checked :)

Fixed it! Now it works fine :D
    Solution was:
Added a wait-action before the last action, to give the fly-out enough time to expand :-D

That just means that the action couldn't do what it wanted during the timeout period you configured :)

Hi there, trying to do almost the same thing as Stefan but to ENABLE Tasker rather than disable it. Apologies, I am new to your apps so am probably making some simple errors. Unlike with Stefan, I cannot create all the tasks in Tasker as there is no enable option so have to use Autoinput. I use a Tasker task to open Tasker itself then two Autoinput tasks to click "More options" and then "Enable Tasker". This is the error I am getting - hopefully I'm just doing something obviously wrong you can identify. Thanks.

Can you please export your task's description (not xml) so I can take a look? Long-click the task in Tasker->export description Thanks in advance
