Chrome 64 stable now has native Linux desktop notifications. Clicking the Reply, Done or Snooze option for Google Inbox for example does nothing. Another example would be the Reply (Directly) option for Google Voice or Facebook Messenger. The Dismiss Everywhere option for most notifications doesn't work, either. Everything works normally using the Join toolbar dropdown menu, however.

    Manjaro Linux Cinnamon
    Chrome 64.0.3282.119 (Official Build) (64-bit)
    Join Chrome Extension 1.7.9
    Join Android App 1.8.2b.bf3

Hi there. I haven't changed anything myself in the notifications. Is there some extra permissions you need to give chrome perhaps? I hope they won't simply break extension behaviors like that... :/

What do you mean by giving Chrome extra permissions?

I suggest testing Chrome Linux in a virtual machine and checking it out yourself if you don't already use it.

Sorry, I was just trying to guess what could be wrong... I'll try to somehow get linux and test it... Do the notification actions still work if you use the normal Join popup?

Ok, I see I have to install linux somehow. Do you have any suggestions on easy to install VMs?

Thank you. I installed Linux and gave this a try. The notifications are very restricted, but they still worked for me.

I tried the Dismiss Everywhere, buttons, action on touch and reply directly and they all worked for me.

I'm using the same version of chrome as you... Are you still having this issue? Maybe the problem is that the phone is not receiving the pushes? Can you send other pushes to the phone?

    Thanks!

What version of Linux and desktop environment did you try? I'm wondering if it has something to do with Cinnamon, my desktop environment. I'll test Gnome and Xfce when I get a chance and see if it still happens.

Yes, it's still happening with Chrome 64.0.3282.140. Again, using the Join extension toolbar dropdown works when the native notifications do not. The phone is indeed receiving the pushes.

The issue I believe was Chrome itself. It's been a lot better on Chrome 65.
