I've read a few other similar threads, but one was for WhatsApp and the other had instructions that no longer apply.

How do I disable duplicate SMS notifications on my phone? One from the message app and one from Join?

    Maybe I misunderstood the faq:

By default, Join sends a notification for each SMS message or call you receive. It will also sync your SMS app’s notifications separately if you enable it in the Join Android App’s settings -> Notifications -> Notification Apps.

I don't have anything checked under this setting. Should I have messages app (the default Android sms app) checked? I don't have it checked, but am getting sms notifications from both.

You shouldn't have it checked if you don't want to get notifications from both... Can you please show me how those notifications look like? Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the confusion, I meant the notifications you get with the SMS :)

Sorry. Didn't upload that one for some reason. It's there now.

To clarify, do you mean that you're receiving SMS notifications on the same phone you're getting the normal SMS in? Is the phone from the screenshot the moto g5?

Yes. It's a Moto G5 Plus. I get the SMS notification on that phone and the join notification. Both are for an actual SMS message I receive.

Hhhm, do you maybe have a duplicate of that device in your device list? Join should never send SMS notifications to the phone that receives the SMS itself.
