Is this even possible or do I require the third party app - Motion Detector?? Id ideally like to keep it all within Tasker if possible.

    Thanks!

Oh, I thought that was what you wanted...What motion did you want to detect then?

Ive got it working by using a HTTP GET but its not fast enough because Im using time as the profile every 2 minutes :(

The HTTP get determines if the sensor is on/off

    Is there any other way?

I have used the guidelines in https://www.pulse-station.com/ufaqs/motion-turn-on-android-tablet/ to configure Tasker.
It works OK but when I reach the screen timeout in Android (in my case 10 min) following happens:

    - the screen fades and then goes black ... which is OK
    - when a motion occurs the screen lights up ... which is OK
    - but the after 5 sec it fades again and goes black ... which is not OK

Got the feeling that Tasker is not handling the screen timeout correctly.
How can this be avoided ... I am a beginner when it comes to Tasker.

Can you please export your profile's description (not xml) so I can take a look? Long-click the profile in Tasker->export description Thanks in advance
