Open Cancel Alarm and ClockTask won't cancel repeating alarms

I'm trying to create a task which will disable my alarm (which repeats on weekdays). I have tried to use Cancel Alarm to do this, however with repeating alarms this just seems to open the Clock app (I use the Google Clock app) and leave the alarm enabled. It does seem to work with single alarms, these do get disabled when the task runs. I have also tried the ClockTask plugin, but this does the same. Is there a way to get this to work with repeating alarms?
The phone is a Huawei Mate 20 Pro, if that makes any difference.
