Tasker Help needed for an old git !!

hi guys, ive been told that tasker can do what i need.... but....
I need a little (lot) of help please.. but i suspect this will be very easy for some of you.

Ive fitted a google nexus 7 into the dash of my car and am running a car launcher app on it..
Works pretty good, but i need to automate a couple of things and i haven't got a clue how to do it..

The nexus sits in the dock, which supplies power and has an audio out, my main need is for the nexus to power up and down when it sees power from the dock, otherwise it just runs the nexus battery down when the car isnt running.
In a perfect world...
power to the dock would turn on the nexus, it would then start the car launcher software, and when power to the dock is lost, it closes the nexus down..

Is this possible?, anyone here can help me?
