Just got my Samsung Galaxy S10+. Now, when I send a message from my SMS app, I see two progress bars in the shade: both say that they are checking to see if the file exists. They trigger a vibration, and they are only visible for a second. Immediately after, they go away and are replaced by a progress bar that says Checking Contacts, and another vibration. Is there a way to stop these from firing and triggering the vibrations? And, yes, my phone is on silent mode, so that's why it vibrates, rather than making a sound.

Long click those notifications, then configure them. You can then disable or modify the way they appear :)

They disappear way too fast to catch them. Any other way?

Open Android Settings > Apps > Join > Notifications and you can configure them there.
