Open WhatsApp replies duplicated

    I've noticed that when I reply directly to a forwarded WhatsApp message on Chrome with Join (so I see the notification pop up and hit Reply on the extension window) then this reply is always sent twice when I look at the WhatsApp log.

    I confirmed with the recipient that it's actually received twice, too, so it's not just a visual glitch.

    Hmm, interesting. Another user has the same issue but I can't replicate it. What android app version are you using?

    Thank you. Are you still having this issue today? I can't replicate it myself...

    It still exists after yesterday's update.

    If it's not clear, I'm using the "Reply Directly" option in the Chrome notification. I enter my reply, hit Send, and it gets sent twice.

    Is that with the Chrome notification popup in the lower right corner or from the Join popup in the notification list?

    Do you use Greenify by any chance?

    I do, though WhatsApp isn't hibernated.

    Another user told me that because of Greenify this was happening. Can you try disabling it please?

    I uninstalled Greenify and then tried again. It had no effect.

    I received another WhatsApp message, clicked Reply Directly at the bottom right, and sent the reply. I then pulled WhatsApp up on my phone and the message was once again sent twice without Greenify being installed.

    Thanks. Weird, Greenify was the issue for 3 other users!
    Can you please let me know if you go to https://joinjoaomgcd.appspot.com/ do you see multiple instances of your device?

    No, only two devices, my desktop (Chrome) and my phone (OnePlus 2).

    It's not a massive issue since I can just use the WhatsApp web gateway for messages on a PC (web.whatsapp.com).
