    Hi!
I've posted this to the Tasker community on G+ and XDA. No super geniuses have came forward as of yet. I did get one reply and that was to use some plugin called TaskerIntent and I've have to make a profile for every application I have. I don't think so!
There has got to be someway to interrogate when and app is launched or is being used in the foreground. This is going to be the hardest thing to figure out! The rest is just a database and some math!
Mind you I'm not rooted, I don't really see the reason to be rooted anymore. Just about everything that I was rooted for in the past is now a part of Android or there is some non-evasive work around.
Hope the community has an idea for me!

Hope I can help :) By tracking app usage what do you mean exactly? What do you want to know about the apps you use?

I think I'm on the way now! Have to monitor the %WIN variable. Although my quick little test doesn't show anything for Tasker itself. So does that mean Tasker doesn't have a value assigned to its window? And if anybody else tries to do this make sure the the accessibility option in Android for Tasker is turned on!
But Joao if you have a slicker solution I'm all ears!

Still odd that Tasker doesn't have a window value.

    But %WIN is Tasker's window value... :)
