AutoInput Send Google Maps Route Info

Testing this tutorial & I am stuck at step 5. I'm expecting to assign a variable named %routeinfo to "1 hr 53 min - 93 mi - 1:27 PM ETA" (or whatever my travel details would be),
Instead I get a list to select from such as:
Select fields that should create variables
14 min, Activate to open step list
Array: Waterview Dr
toward Hilltop Rd
Array: Hilltop Rd
Tap to speak button
North up view . . .
My goal is to somehow capture the ETA to a variable, then send that variable in an SMS.
Please tell me where I am in error for this excercise, I have been scratching my head over it for 6 hours.

Yes it does, it looks similar (the word ETA does not appear) to your tutorial, here is what I see:

When I slide the top bar down for the AutoInput "Accept" this is what I see after I Accept:

I don't want to quit, so I have selected the first option on the above list "28 min, Activate to open step list"
Then, I assign that to a %routeinfo variable. Add a task to flash the %routeinfo variable. Then, another task to "Say" t0he %routeinfo variable. Activate the profile by "OK Google, send route to me". AutoVoice works (VERY cool). The task continues & flashes the variable name, not the results. The "SAY task says "percent sign routeinfo". So I am stuck or doing something very stupid. My Google Maps version is 9.12.1 - maybe I can go back a earlier version (or two, or three) & see if the program acts differently.

I am having the same issue - the variable does not get filled. I tried it with Waze as well and still the variable is blank. Thoughts?

 

Hi there, I liked your idea an so I tried was not satisfied and found another way, I used autonotification.

When you start a trip maps make a notification that I used to trigger a notification with the same text in it.
But with a share button.
Works really fine.
