Solved Can I receive Join chrome notifications when it's closed?

As the title says.

I was thinking about getting rid of my windows 10 app for join and use chrome instead but I don't seem to be able to receive pushes when my browser is closed.

Is there any way around it?

Well I may be doing something wrong then because it isn't working in my end
thanks for the answer though, I'll look into it to find a fix

edit: "continue running background apps when google chrome is closed" was disabled on my client, fixed it and works like a charm now

just in case somebody else with the same problems stumbles upon this topic
