My one plus 5T has a camera settings to turn off the annoying shutter sound. Like all phones do .

But the recent adroid 9 "Pie" update that they pushed seems to have broken this setting. i.e. the setting is still there but the shutter noise continues even if the setting says off.

I was wanting to fix this using Tasker. Can I set a recipe so that once the camera is open the sound is muted? I tried the camera app trigger to set the DND status but that does not seem to work.

Any other ideas how I could achieve this?

Can you please export your profile's description (not xml) so I can take a look? Long-click the profile in Tasker->export description Thanks in advance

Any other ways to mute the sound? What else could I try?

Maybe change all the individual volumes (media, ringer, system) to 0 and see if that helps?
