    Hi,
I'm interested in Autoremote to control my Android in-wall touch screen, my home automation controller is on the same network and can send http post commands.

Is it possible to send http post commands to Autoremote (sat on my Android box) to switch the screen off and on and possibly start the Daydream screensaver?

If so any idea what the http post string should look like?

    Thanks and fingers crossed.

    Steve

Yes directly via WiFi on the same network.....Thanks for the link, I had a look but it doesn't show me how to compile the 'http post strings' for the following actions on my Android box -

    1) Screen Off
    2) Screen On
    3) Start Daydream Screensaver
    4) Stop Daydream screensaver

Can you provide or point me to an example of an http post for one of these actions. Also will I need Tasker to work with Autoremote?

If it helps I already have Llama which I believe is similar to Tasker.

I'm keen to get the examples so I can buy Autoremote.

    Thanks again

AutoRemote by itself won't do those things :) You send the autoremote messages you want, react to them in Tasker and then Tasker does those things for you.
    1. Tasker can do this
    2. AutoInput can do this
    3. I don't think this is doable
    4. this either

    Thank you for your reply...

    1. I looked in Tasker but I can't find an option for 'screen off'
    2. I will take a look at Autoinput for 'screen on'
    3. With regards to 'Start Daydream Screensaver' I found an app that will start 'Daydream' so I think Autoremote / Tasker will run the app.
    4. I'm surprised stopping the screensaver isn't doable as this only needs to simulate a screen touch/mouse move?

Do you know if Autoremote will work with Llama also ?

Where can I find a http post example to switch screen off?

    Thanks again

    Steve

To turn screen off you should use the Lock screen action in Tasker :)
Send a command like "lock screen" via AutoRemote and in the task use the aforementioned action. Hope this helps
