Hey! Been running Join for a couple of years now and it's amazing!

Wanted to try Microsoft's new Edge browser out since it's built with Chromium and it looks pretty good so far!
However I really want to use Join, it's kind of a deal breaker.

    On join settings I see

    This device:
    undefined

And I get these errors when running diagnostics.
I've logged in and out a couple of times.

Testing registration on Join's server... Must provide regId
Sending Push to server... "No devices to send to"
Receiving Push from server... Didn't receive push after 5 seconds. Error: undefined: Try the steps mentioned in the FAQ here
Receiving Push with GCM key... "No devices to send to"
Comparing GCM keys... No device to send message to

    Thanks!

Unfortunately Edge doesn't have the necessary push APIs needed to make it work, sorry!

Oh, that's to bad! I thought they would have basically the same API since they both are built with Chromium?

You're talking about the "new " Edge right, not the old one that was awful!

Yeah, not sure why they wouldn't use all the APIs myself :( Wish they just would! And yeah, I'm talking about the new one...

Did you happen to see the Edge devs response? Is that a solution or are they trying to say No and close the issue?

We do not have any plans of providing chrome.gcm in Edge because it depends on Google's push messaging service. The use of GCM requires developers to register with developers.google.com, which creates a secret used for authentication. This prevents us from standing up a Microsoft service that offers equivalent functionality since we cannot authenticate developers.

As an alternative, we request you to use service worker push messaging as a replacement for chrome.gcm in Edge. Service worker push messaging uses Microsoft’s push messaging service in Edge and Google’s push messaging service in Chrome. Both push services implement the same IETF standards so the push messaging services should work the same. Here’s a good reference for the same: https://web-push-book.gauntface.com/introduction/.
