Autovera Custom Notification From Any Sensor

Use an AutoVera Status Update to create a custom notification, with custom alerts to accompany.

    STEP 1 - CREATE STATUS UPDATE EVENT


    • Open Tasker
    • Within a new Project, create a new Profile
    • Choose Event and then Plugin
    • Select AutoVera Status Update from the list of plugins


    STEP 2 - DEFINE STATUS UPDAT


    • Edit your Auto Vera Status Update configuration. Choose your Vera
    /!\ Do not choose a Device unless you only wish to be notified of a single device. This guide is intended to catch all Sensors
    • Select Service and choose the service you wish to monitor. Enable the Security Sensor service
    • Select Variable. Choose from the available Variables for the chosen device. Security Sensors off two variables, Tripped and Armed. For this guide, select Tripped
    • Finally, in the New Value field, input the number 1. 1 is the indicator for Tripped, while 0 is the indicator for Not Tripped
    • Press the Back button to return to the Event Edit screen.


    STEP 3 - CREATE THE ACCOMPANYING TASK


    • Press Back from the Event Edit screen and you will be prompted to choose a task.
    (i) Tasks assigned to specific profiles do not need to be named, however once named, it will appear in the list of Tasks within that Project
    • You should now have an empty Task screen, ready to add your first Task
    • Add a new Action to your Task. Choose Alert from the menu of Actions. Choose Notify from the menu of Alerts


    STEP 4 - CREATING THE NOTIFICATION


    • Add a Title to your notification
    • In the Text field of your Notify action, use the Tag icon to show a list of possible AutoVera Variables.
    • Choose %avdevicename from the list of variables and complete the text with appropriate wording for your alert.


    STEP 5 - COMPLETING YOUR NOTIFICATION


    • Choose a relevant icon for your notificaion
    • Optionally increase the priority of your notification to move it to the top of your drawer
    • Press Back to return to the Task Edit screen


    STEP 6 - OPTIONAL ALERTS


    • Add a new Action to your Task. Choose Alert from the menu of Actions. Choose Beep from the menu of Alerts
    • Optionally change the audio stream to Alarm to follow system rules regarding alarm sounds.
    • Press Back to return to the Task Edit screen


    STEP 7 - OPTIONAL ALERTS


    • Add a new Action to your Task. Choose Alert from the menu of Actions. Choose Vibrate from the menu of Alerts
    • Optionally adjust the default Vibrate settings for your notification
    • Press Back to return to the Task Edit screen
    • Exit Tasker completely to prepare your AutoVera Status Update for testing.


    STEP 8 - TEST YOUR NOTIFICATION


    /!\ Ensure Status Updates are enabled for whichever devices you wish to receive alerts from. Within the AutoVera app devices screen, the bell icon for each device should be Yellow to indicate status updates are on.

    • Trip an enabled sensor and your notification should appear, as well as any alerts you may have added along with it.
