I've used Auto Input MANY TIMES for many actions..
    .. Works great.

    and/but
I tried to use it to tap the white round button in Google Maps.. That changes from north up to course up.
(I use easy mode for Auto Input so I'm nearly certain it's not a config error).

It does work, but then Tasker keeps throwing error messages about ~"unable to locate button"..
...and keeps throwing them even though I only make the call one time on start.
...and keeps throwing them until my memory gets used up to the point of crashing the project.

Is this a know bug?.. or new bug or?..or something else?

If it's not a known bug, I can post some screen shots or more details.

    Thanks
    Dennis

Hi. Where can you see those messages? I don't recall having that message anywhere in AutoInput...

Hmm those are not AutoInput errors then... Those are Tasker errors :) Can you post the exact errors here please?

    The task does run.
No errors in the log file.
But in error/warning box that opens each time I open task it says there was a error.
And once I call this task one time, my %MEM starts diminishing as my project runs.
    Eventually, the project crashes.

It's a simple task: "Set Map Pref":
    Open Maps
    Wait 5 seconds
    Run the auto input action
    Wait 5 seconds.

Your auto input action was created using the "easy method".
    Navigate to maps app
    Select the white button element

    Some screen shots?

Thanks for any help.. but I think it's a bug

Those are not actually errors but simple warnings for the developer :) In my opinion end-users shouldn't have to see those. You can disable them in the Tasker app settings. Sorry for the trouble!

    Perhaps,
But they seem to continue to pile up and consume memory.
Without that auto input Acton, my project will run all day.
WITH that auto input action the project runs for about 30 minutes and then crashes after several low memory warnings.

Please do not mark this as "solved", it's not just a simple warning that I can ignore.

    Thanks,
    Dennis

Sorry about that. But I don't think that I can fix it since it's Tasker that's crashing...

Can you please export your task's description (not xml) so I can take a look? Long-click the task in Tasker->export description Thanks in advance

    I will...
..if you will do me one little favor?

    Create a task that :
    ..opens Google Maps
..runs an AutoInput action that selects the big white button on the right side in Google Maps (that switches from "course up" to "north up"..

Run the task and be certain Tasker is set to show warnings/errors on start.
(because the warnings never show up in the log file)

It's a very simple task with only two action items.
    (..probably take you two minutes)
If yours works, send me a copy?

I have, and use, most of your products.

    Thanks,
    Dennis

    Ok here it is.
Tested it multiple times and it always seemed to work.
    Thanks!

As I said before those are not actually errors but simple warnings for the developer :) In my opinion end-users shouldn't have to see those. I get those too if I enable the option but everything works fine.
There's nothing about those errors that should make Tasker crash.... If you disable the warnings from showing does it still crash?

But did you try disabling that popup in Tasker?

Yes, I disabled the warnings in Tasker.

Perhaps the warnings and my memory leak are not related.. I'll start over again.
    Thanks for your assistance.
