    Hi,

I accidentally did a factory reset (No recent backup of course, d'oh!) and now Join sees my device as a new one. Is there a way to restore the old device id? I have a bunch of scripts set up that use the device id and it would save me a lot of trouble if I can just restore it.

    Thx,

    Willem

Hi. Sorry, but unfortunately there's no way to do that. If you tell me what device you want to have that ID I can manually change it for you :) Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot for fixing it. Perhaps you can consider backing up the dwvice ids to gdrive, like you have with autoremote.

    Cheers,

Thanks. But just so you know, you can push by device name now so this shouldn't be a big deal anymore :)

Yep. Just still annoying because many third party apps ask explicitly for device ID (Not name) to integrate into Join.

Oh I see. Right. You should ask those 3rd parties to be able to use device name ;)

Ok... How about for Home Assistant? joaoapps_join ;)

The other day I had to log out and back in to join on my phone in order to receive clipboard pasting from join/chrome on PC. That resolved it, but was that that log out and log in what caused my ID to change?

    Thanks.
