I have a problem with SMS conversations where I don't want to add the contact # to the phone book.
When the message comes in, it is coming in as "+1nnnnnnnnnn" .
If I respond from the phone, itself, it sends to "(nnn) nnn-nnnn"
If I respond from Join on my browser to the "+1nnnnnnnnnn" conversation, it does go out.
If I respond from Join on my browser to the "(nnn) nnn-nnnn" conversation it does go out, too
So the problem is that the incoming texts are on the "+1nnnnnnnnn" conversation, but the Outgoings end up in a separate place when i do it from the phone, compared to the options on the web app.
Would it be possible... would it make sense... to strip the spaces and ()s from how the conversation is tracked, and then strip the leading +\d{1,2} from the front, if it is there? It'd be nice to be able to ahve text conversations for unknown contacts on both Join + Phone without having to add them in as a contact in order to get a standard number to show up
Phone: ZTE Axon 7 Nougat 7.1. App: "Android Messages" by Google.

    Thanks!

    Hi, sorry for the delay.
On your phone do also see 2 conversations? Or is it just in Join? Thanks!

No, just 1. The phone seems to combine it based on stripping out ()- as well as the leading +<country code>
