Open Join features on Shield TV

I finally got it sort of working, but I have 2 issues.

SMS received do not show up on the TV, how can I get this to work?

Also, I've been trying to paste text from my laptop (chrome) into a text field in an app on my Shield TV but nothing happens.

I got the copy/paste part working now, but received texts still aren't showing. I can hear a notification sound through my soundbar, but I don't see anything?
