AutoNotification Cancelling a Notification

Hello, I wanted to remove the use of Tasker's wait function before autonotification cancel and use the time out function instead.

I'm on Android 8 but it seems like I use it incorrectly and a notification from an app I want to cancel after 3 minutes will cancels it right away.

Is time out for autonotification only for use with autonotification generated messages only?
