    Hi,

    I have been trying to do the "Copying some text from your phone to the Windows clipboard" thing with the method provided by http://joaoapps.com/autoremote/eventghost/tips-and-tricks/ but came to no avail.
    I have sent the message "copy=:=%CLIP" to my computer but instead of copying the text in my phone's clipboard, only the characters "%CLIP" are in my computer's clipboard.

    The following is the log of AR after the AR message was sent:
    version 3.0.43

    OS Build LRX21V.WW-ASUS_Z00A-2.20.40.165_20160118_6541_user
    OS Code 21
    Device ASUS_Z00AD
    Manufacturer asus
    Product WW_Z00A

    Out - 2016-03-01 23:35:55.339 - Text: "copy=:=%CLIP" sent successfully to EventGhost through Wifi

    The following is the log of EG after the AR message was sent:
    ---> Welcome to EventGhost <---
    Got communication of type: Message
    Can't download received files. You have to choose a folder in the AutoRemote plugin settings first.

    This is a redirected message.
    eg.event.payload.armessage: u'copy=:=%CLIP'
    eg.event.payload.arpar: [u'copy']
    eg.event.payload.arcomm: u'%CLIP'
    eg.event.payload.sender:
    key: u'APA91bGs3_UHcnCL_XEcJbQy6iXKBxJWYGSVIKUlG3IQKcBGt4IZCcgNPXfZDoFf1Cr-ZhI5SMJ8w4dvp44VqIXZ_cu6VPBdCG2IzUfVuNerkh4P1EjdIehTpp1R3N3ymAmm2-19cRiP'
    name: u'Geoff'
    url: u'
    http://goo.gl/______' (<-My personal Url)
    localIp: None
    port: None
    tryLocalIp: False
    AutoRemote.Message.copy u'copy=:=%CLIP'
    Copy to Clipboard
    eg.WinApi.Clipboard.SetClipboardText(eg.event.payload.arcomm)
    Show OSD: Copied to clipboard: "{eg.event.payload.arcomm}"
    System.ClipboardChanged

    Things I think are worth noticing:
    1. I have tried a few other tasks that involves both AR and EG (e.g. Turning off computer/launching programs with AR) and I had no problem
    2. I have tried restarting both of my devices
    3. I have tried to copy from different sources like Chrome, Telegram, Quick Memo app (not sure if it matters, just in case)
    4. I have tried using %Clip and %clip
    5. My phone's rooted and is running Android 5.0 Lollipop
    Thanks a lot for your help! It is much appreciated! : )

    Can you please try using the Tasker "Flash" action with the text %CLIP and check what it shows? :) Thanks

    What is happening to you just means that Tasker doesn't know the value of your keyboard for some reason.

    Thanks in advance

    I am also having the same problem. When I use "Flash" action in Tasker, the %CLIP correctly shows the contents of the clipboard, but in Send message, my PC clipboard just receives "%CLIP"..

    EDIT: Just found something interesting; when I have used your tutorial to send copied text from PC to phone, then send it back to PC with Tasker-Send, it does send the clipboard correctly, but only if I change the "Message to Send" to %CLIP instead of copy=:=%CLIP.
    But if I then long-press copy something on my phone, it just sends "%CLIP".

    haha ok final EDIT: So it seems to be a bug. I had only gotten as far using the "You can send a message to test it!" button in the configuration. But when I went back to the Task Edit screen and pushed the Play button on the task, it works fine.

    Yeah, AutoRemote can't access your Tasker variables that way :) It must be used from the Task directly
