Open Error: Error downloading SMS files

The error I get on my Join chrome plugin is "
Error: Error downloading SMS files: Error: File doesn't exist on your google drive: lastsms=:="REDACTED"

Make sure the SMS Service is enabled on this device in the Android App -> Settings -> SMS.
If it is, go back to the devices tab here in Chrome, click on your device and select 'Send an SMS message' to re-select your device."

This service used to work so well, but somehow it got screwed up. I have tried a complete reinstall of the chrome app, the android app, deleted both devices from the website, deleted the folder join created on my google drive, and nothing has worked. Can I get some help? I am not opposed to a complete reinstall again. thanks.
The "REDACTED" numbers I can provide if someone can tell me that they are not unique to my device/computer/identity and they are required.

 

Not the OP, but I am having the same issue with the same error.
Opening "SMS Messaging" on my device yields an everlasting loading animation.

 

I am seeing the same error as OP. Started two days ago.
