Formatted phone numbers not calling correctly

When I highlight a phone number that has formatting (###) ###-####, the only part that dials on the phone is the area code, so I end up having to retype the phone number and copy it into the contacts search in order to dial it from join.

 

Great that worked, but it still doesn't like formatted numbers in the chrome extension (If I put an unformatted number, it gives me the option to call an unlisted contact, whereas formatted numbers have no options)
