AutoWeb Google Fit API

I've been trying for a few hours to make the Google Fit API do something useful, but failing. It seems to be returning nothing. So I went to the Fit developers site to see if I could figure out what I was doing wrong.

It appears to me that the Fit "List Sessions" api provided by AutoWeb is not able to recover data unless there was also a start session/stop session done beforehand. Since AutoWeb doesn't have an api for those actions, it seems that "List Sessions" will not be able to retrieve anything.

Has anybody had any luck with this? Am I missing something obvious?
