AutoVoice Google Now on Maps

I have an extensive voice controlled setup in my car mode, using Autovoice Continuous that worked great until the Google update a while ago that broke the reliability of AVC mode. Due to some life changing events, I never found the time to work out a solution, so I stopped using it.

I'm now on a new device and trying to find a workaround. Experimenting with Google Now Integration I've found I need to use the fix here for most of my commands: http://forum.joaoapps.com/index.php?threads/google-search-not-canceled.2004/

....and that works great when I test. However, IRL I use these commands while Maps is in the foreground. "Okay Google" does not bring up the regular Google Now dialog, so the back button action is not preventing the Google search from performing. I don't think Autovoice is intercepting either (when maps is loaded)...

How are others accomplishing this?

 

I appreciate the help Joao. I think the problem is that Google Now Integration is not integrating with an "OK google" voice search when Maps is running in the foreground. When I run a test, nothing appears in the log at all...it's empty.

When I test "OK google" from the homescreen, everything is recognized and my task performs as expected (thanks to the addition of the Back button fix in the link above).

The difference as far as I can tell is that the voice search dialog does not appear in the foreground when launched with "ok google" from within Maps (like it normally does), but instead Maps remains fully visible and Google appears as a notification on the statusbar.

Since I don't have a log of the failed test, here's a log of it working (from homescreen):

I've decided to go back to using AVC instead of using the Google Now integration. AVC seems to be working more reliably on this s6e+ than it did on my s4...maybe it's the better specs, or maybe an update to Google or Autovoice made things better? I'll test it out for a while and see how it holds up.
