AutoInput How to make autoinput work?

Having very similar problem. AI just doesnt seen to execute. Have a profile set in Tasker, when connected to a bluetooth device ( my car ) to switch on WiFi hotspot using AI. Used the easy setup and led it to settings and used volume down button to set the action. But the said action never works. Any ideas where im going wrong?.

I got it to work after a fashion but now the lock screen is interfering. I tried System Input but without success.
