I installed Join on my phone and both my Android TV devices.. an Nvidia Shield TV and a Nexus Player.

I've set Accessibility Services / Join -- to On

    This works..
    --- https://joinjoaomgcd.appspot.com/
--- choose my device... NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV
    --- Find
--- DISMISS button appears on TV

    This also works..
--- From my phone, I choose "NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV"
    --- Type a message "testing 123"
--- Message on TV pops up Set clipboard: "testing 123"
--- Message on TV pops up Writing: "testing 123"

Sending an API from the site (or other apps I have) does not work.
But I do get the notification sound

    ie: https://joinjoaomgcd.appspot.com/_ah/api/messaging/v1/sendPush?text=testing test&title=this is a test&deviceId=<DeviceId>

    Am I missing a setting?

    thanks

    EDIT:

I noticed that if I send the clipboard attribute, my TV receives the notification

    &clipboard=test

    https://joinjoaomgcd.appspot.com/_ah/api/messaging/v1/sendPush?text=testing%20test&title=this%20is%20a%20test&clipboard=test&deviceId=<DeviceID>

Does Join allow sending regular notifications to Android TV or does it need to be a clipboard item?

Android TV doesn't show notifications but a toast should appear instead. Does it not appear?

I guess my wording it wrong. I do get the Toast.. however, I only get it if I send a clipboard item..

    This doesn't work
    https://joinjoaomgcd.appspot.com/_ah/api/messaging/v1/sendPush?text=testing%20test&title=this%20is%20a%20test&deviceId=<DeviceID>

but this does ( with the following added &clipboard=test )

    https://joinjoaomgcd.appspot.com/_ah/api/messaging/v1/sendPush?text=testing%20test&title=this%20is%20a%20test&clipboard=test&deviceId=<DeviceID>

Can I get the Toast to appear without requiring the clipboard piece?

Here's what works when I send a test url with "&clipboard=test"

    Settings / Clipboard

If I set Clipboard Toast to enabled, I get the following Set clipboard: Test

If I set Write Toast to enabled, Writing: Test

Settings / Android TV / Toast Position does nothing

Nothing shows up if I leave out the "&clipboard=test"

Does anyone have any ideas about this?

The clipboard work around doesn't work too well in the real world. I keep sending emails about doors being open :)

Ohhhhh, now I see what you mean! :)

The toast only appears on synced notifications, not when receiving notifications via a push! I'll fix it right away, thanks!

    I'll try it tonight.. thx.

I got around this by using Tasker to watch for Join notifications and creating an Alert. it worked fine on my Nvidia Shield but I couldn't install Tasker on my Nexus Player. The Shield allowed me to accept the Disclaimer. The Nexus Player gets stuck on that screen.

This works great on both of my devices.
To be clear of which settings are required, I wiped all previous data and installed the updated version.
I didn't have to change any settings.

Settings / Android TV / Toast Position - also works.

    thanks
