AutoWear No Autowear Launcher 'Apps' will open

I first accepted the permissions of autowear on my Huawei watch then followed the setup wizard. I set note to self to open autowear and enable some of the autowear launcher apps such as 'Command'. When press the Command button on the watch the screen flashes like it is going to open but then just goes back to the watch face. On my phone I can see that the command was recognized because it says "AutoWear Command: &APPOPENEDCOMMAND&" but it won't open on the watch. What can I do?
