So I have a strange problem. I have AutoLocation installed on two Pixel 2 devices (mine and my wifes). On mine, the notification has fallen out of the status bar into the pulldown. However, on my wifes, the notification remains in the status bar.

This will not work, because she's a crazy person and can't have anything in her status bar. LOL

Why the difference in these two identical devices, and how do I 'fix' hers?

Long press the notification and change its importance :) Should work!

I'm running Oreo and don't see a way to change it's importance. Just turn it on/off.

Oh I see. In that case turn it off then on again and it should keep the correct priority. Thanks

Well, as of this morning, it seems to have fixed itself. It did the same thing on my phone, but in like 12 hours, rather than 4 days or so. Weird.

Should I start a new thread for this?

Now my problem is getting the fences to actually trigger (on Oreo). I have two fences setup.

2000m around my home - turn on AutoLocation high accuracy location monitor
500m around my home - run specific tasks

It seems that the 2000m one works most of the time (but not all). The 500m one doesn't really work at all. I know Location Services have changed pretty significantly in Oreo, so is there something else I should be doing?

Did you update to the latest AutoLocation? That fixes an Oreo specific issue. Thanks!

I've had the same problem every time I updated on pie. Tasker would minimize immediately, but auto location would stay until some random time. It's gotten worse on Q/10. The notification is silent, but it is not minimized and shows up on the notification bar. Can't find any way to get it to minimize on 10. Tasker does it fine there too though. Any thoughts?

To make it not show you can simply disable the notification in the Android 10 system settings :)

I had done that, but it randomly came back. That might be more an Android bug than an app bug.

Does disabling that notification no longer cause problems with background location tracking? I might be remembering wrong but I thought that was why the notification existed in the first place.

The app always has to create it but the user is free to disable it without any adverse effects to the app :)
