I'm trying to create a project to open https://web.whatsapp.com/ on my tablet (N9) from a AutoRemote notification and to close that browser tab with the back button:

WhatsApp Web will only work in desktop mode, so I created an AI action which clicks the menu button in chrome to expand settings.
AI log shows that the button is clicked but nothing happens.
Anyone able to reproduce my issue?
Are there any alternative ways to open a URL in desktop mode?

Unfortunately google built chrome in a way that AutoInput (or any accessibility service) cannot click it. If you are rooted you can use the AutoInput root action to press the menu button, and that should make it show up.
    Hope this helps!

    Okay, thank you!
I will root my tablet as soon as 5.1 is available and try again.

Will it be possible to close a single browsertab by its name then?

Not sure about that. Maybe with the "Nearby text" option it'll be possible. But you don't need root for that actually :)

You could maybe use the Browse tasker action to open WhatsApp, and use something else for closing?

I use Browse URL action but it will always open WA Web in mobile view.
To make it work I have to manually switch to desktop view which I'm trying to automate with AI.
It is quite important to close the WA tab afterwards cause if you don't, WA will keep syncing with the phone, no matter if you're still in the same wifi.

I tried to record the click on the little X in the chrome tab but that made my screen unresponsive and I had the reboot the tablet.
    Will try again when rooted.

It has with defaults to do. Just clear the defaults on Whatsapp, so Browse URL stops opening it. Do you have to close the tab, or just whole chrome?

Could you try another browser, maybe?

WhatsApp is not installed on my tablet so I use WhatsApp Web to sync with my phone.
WhatsApp Web only works with Chrome and only in desktop mode, since it's not intended to be used on mobile devices.
It would be nice to use an alternative browser but even if it were possible, Browse URL action will open the link in the default browser.

Oh. Sorry, but I have no clue how to help. It looks like you've got to root anyways.
