AutoRemote Permissions denied autoremote

I've had autoremote working well for some time but have a problem all of a sudden.

The usual autoremote messages from devices with autoremote and also from groodle home intents work but the messages from a local device that sends messages by http requests (its an esp8266) on the local network don't seem to work.

It stopped sending messages to my autoremote device all of a sudden but it appears to be connected to the network fine.

I have noticed when I open autoremote that I get a toast of "permissions denied every time I open autoremote.

Any ideas what permissions I am being denied? I believe this could be the problem but could be a coincidence
